"Setsuko Hara, one of Japan's most beloved actresses, best known for her subtle portrayals of women torn between the demands of family and their own desires in 'Late Spring,' 'Tokyo Story' and other films directed by Yasujiro Ozu, died on Sept. 5 in Kamajura, near Tokyo."
