contrary to what people have thought, the weather in bangkok for the past two weeks or so has been nothing short of amazing.

it's actually notably been very beautiful out almost everyday and within the past couples of weeks, i can only remember two very brief rainstorms that moved on as quickly as they came. this recent bout of humid-free weather makes me think of a beautiful spring day in nyc and it feels great to walk around under the sun.

thankfully, the worst of thailand's flooding seems to have passed and the waters that came from the north of the country will slowly start to recede now. while the floodwaters never reached the area of bangkok i reside in---nor any other central parts of the city---the outer suburbs have been heavily affected. also, close to 400 people died from the floods by drowning or electrocution, which is just devastating.

i really hope the country is able to heal and move forward.

ps- bottled water and other basic necessities are still impossible to find in city stores and supermarkets.
